Technical Assistance / Enforcement

The Programs Branch provides quality assurance and guidance services to the other branches in the Section to meet common needs for overall program performance, and provides technical assistance to the public with informational, regulatory and technical assistance.

The Technical Resource Unit is responsible for the preparation and delivery of enforcement actions that have been drafted by the compliance staff, coordination of appeals with legal and compliance staff, regulatory and technical assistance, waste determinations, delisting requests, and special projects assigned by the Section Chief.

The Programs Branch also has the responsibility for rules preparation and authorization issues, the central file system for the Section, budget and grant administration, monthly reports and time records coordination, electronic data management, implementation and maintenance of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Information (RCRAInfo) and the Biennial Reporting System (BRS), and billing and collection of hazardous waste fees.
