NC Temporary Rule to Postpone EPA new Definition of Solid Waste Rule
The Division of Waste Management’s Hazardous Waste Section (HWS) has filed a proposed temporary rule with the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings postponing North Carolina’s adoption of EPA’s new Definition of Solid Waste Rule. The temporary rule will afford the HWS an opportunity to analyze the revised regulation and obtain public input in order to make an informed decision on the rule’s overall impact on public health and the environment.

Stakeholder Meeting:
On April 13, 2009 the Hazardous Waste Section sent out a letter announcing a stakeholder meeting on June 1, 2009 at 11:00 am, at 401 Oberlin Road, Suite 150, Raleigh, North Carolina to discuss our analysis of the new rule to date and options that the Section is considering as well as to solicit further information on its impacts.
