GUIDANCE DOCUMENTS

The IHSB currently publishes two contaminant cleanup guidance documents that are updated annually and one supplemental guidance document that is updated as needed. The first document, Registered Environmental Consultant Program Rules and Implementation Guidance, applies only to sites that have signed administrative agreements to conduct a remedial actions under the IHSB's REC Program. This document is updated each August. The second guidance document, Inactive Hazardous Sites Program Guidelines for Assessment and Cleanup, provides guidance to responsible parties conducting remedial actions under the State-Lead Cleanup Program and remedial activities at priority sites. This guidance is updated each August.  The supplemental guidance document, Guidelines for Addressing Old Landfills & Dumps, provides guidance for assessment and remedial activities to ensure that old landfills and dumps can be safely reused.  To view copies of the guidance, select one of the documents listed below.
