The central authority for the IHSB is granted under North Carolina General Statute 130A-310 et seq, also known as The North Carolina Inactive Hazardous Sites Response Act of 1987. North Carolina Administrative Code Title 15A Subchapter 13C Rule .0200 contains the requirements of the IHSB's site prioritization system. 15A NCAC 13C.0300 contains the rules governing the Registered Environmental Consultant Program.
