Emergency Poultry Waste Guidance

Local governments are responsible for including in their 3 year update to their Solid Waste Management Plan, a plan in case of local emergency disposal needs, such as in the case of avian flu, in accordance with G.S. 130A-309.09A.

State Guidance:

In the case of avian flu, governing authority for poultry disposal is under the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Veterinary Division, David Marshall, State Veterinarian (www.ncagr.com/vet/).
