The following guidance document was created to serve as an internal agency guide for municipal solid waste management facility inspectors. This guidance document is being provided to the solid waste management facility regulated community in order to provide that regulated community with a general insight into the scope of a facility audit and into the manner in which a facility is evaluated. In addition, the guidance document provides general technical assistance pertinent to frequently asked questions and issues that are common at most solid waste management facilities. This document is intended to be used solely as a guide, therefore strict adherence to the examples given in the document are not always possible due to the many variables encountered at each of the solid waste management facilities across the state.
